A PSD Letter Does Not Make a Dog a Service Dog

Can my landlord refuse a PSD the same way they can an ESA?
Under the FHA, landlords must provide reasonable accommodations for both ESAs and PSDs. A PSD letter supports your housing accommodation request. Whether the dog additionally has ADA public-access rights in the building's common areas depends on whether the dog meets the ADA's individual task-training standard - landlords cannot simply bar a qualified service dog from the premises.
Do I need to certify or register my psychiatric service dog?
No. There is no federal registration or certification program for service animals under the ADA. Websites that sell "service dog certificates" or ID cards have no legal weight.
