This includes licensed psychologists, licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), licensed professional counselors (LPCs), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs), and psychiatrists. The clinician must be licensed in the state where you reside.

Not every therapist is qualified. The therapist must hold an active, state-issued mental health license - not just a certification or coaching credential.
