The Supportive Pet was founded to make legitimate ESA and PSD letter evaluations accessible, affordable, and fast. We work exclusively with state-licensed mental health professionals. We do not sell pre-written letters or templates. Every letter comes from a real clinical evaluation conducted by a licensed clinician who is authorized to practice in your state.

An ESA letter is a medical document. It must be written by a licensed mental health professional — a licensed clinical social worker, licensed mental health counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist, or licensed psychologist. The letter confirms that you have a qualifying mental health condition and that an emotional support animal provides therapeutic benefit for that condition.

Under the Fair Housing Act, a valid ESA letter requires your landlord to grant you reasonable accommodation for your animal. No-pet policies, breed bans, weight restrictions, and pet deposits cannot be applied to documented ESA owners. This is a federal right. It applies to the vast majority of housing in the United States, including apartments, condominiums, and HOA-governed communities.
